Holy Red examines sacred architecture through photography, moving image, and sound. The project focuses on historic churches throughout Miami, treating these spaces as sites of visual memory—structures that continue to accumulate meaning as the city evolves around them.
A series of small-format photographs anchors the exhibition, each presented through a recurring red frame. This device references both the material qualities of the work and the symbolic associations of color within ritual traditions, shaping how viewers encounter the architecture and raising questions of preservation, adaptation, and permanence. A moving-image installation assembled from archival footage extends the exhibition beyond the photographic works. Photography, film, sound, and found material come together to reflect on how places, symbols, and histories persist through documentation, repetition, and collective memory.
